Why We Say No to Added Sugar (and What That Actually Means)

A lot of "healthy" dried fruit snacks on the market are dipped in sugar syrup or oil before drying, both to preserve them and to make up for flavour lost in slower drying processes. The ingredient label often just says "mango" — but the nutrition panel tells a different story.

Every Orzino pack has exactly one ingredient: the fruit. No added sugar, no syrup, no oil, no preservatives. The natural sugars already in the fruit become more concentrated once the water is removed, which is why a slice can taste surprisingly sweet — that sweetness is just the fruit's own, nothing extra.

Why this matters

  • No hidden sugar spikes — what you taste is what's actually in the fruit
  • Suitable for kids' tiffins without the sugar-crash worry
  • A genuinely better option for a post-workout or late-night snack
  • Nothing to hide on the label — we print the full ingredient list on every pack

We'd rather a pack taste like real fruit, even if that means it's slightly less sweet than a candy-coated alternative. That trade-off is the whole point of freeze-drying it right in the first place.
